About us

A volunteer-run foundation started in 2011 in Chattogram, working on education, health, winter relief and getting young people into work.

Youth Worldwide Foundation is a youth organisation that started in 2011 and is based in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Volunteers run it. Students, recent graduates and working professionals who give their time to programmes in education, menstrual health, winter relief, digital safety and youth employment.

What we think

Development that sticks does not get handed to a community from outside. It comes from people who live somewhere deciding something should change, then doing the unglamorous work of changing it. That shapes how we set up everything we run. Local people decide what is needed, volunteers do the work, and we answer to the people we are supposed to be helping.

Where we work

Our main office is in South Khulshi, Chattogram, and we have a second one in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Most programmes run around Chattogram, and the winter distributions reach into northern Bangladesh.

Youth’s Voice

This started as Youth’s Voice, a platform for young people in Chattogram to organise around the problems they could see in front of them. The people who built it have since moved into technology, NGOs, education, business and jobs overseas, and a surprising number of them are still involved.

The phrase our members use is once a part of Youth’s Voice, always a part of us. In practice that means we have something unusual for a youth foundation. An alumni network that picks up the phone.

Our members

  • Founding members, who built the platform for youth-led social work in Chattogram.
  • Legacy members, now working in technology, NGOs, business and companies around the world, and still part of this.
  • Current members, the volunteers, interns and project leads running things today.

What we focus on

Education for all, youth development, women’s empowerment, sanitation and health, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
