An exhibition that uses art to start a conversation about menstrual health that words alone have not managed to start.
Aparajita is an art exhibition about menstrual health and the silence around it. The idea is simple. A lecture about menstruation empties a room in Bangladesh. A painting does not.
The work comes from young artists, and the exhibition runs over several days with sessions alongside it. Partners including ShareTrip have supported it.
Why art
There is no shortage of accurate information about this. What is missing is permission to talk about it. An exhibition gives people a reason to stand in a room and look at something difficult together, and that turns out to work better than a leaflet.
