Project Maya
We help underprivileged students stay in school by covering fees, books and uniforms, and pairing them with a mentor.
Talent is spread evenly across Bangladesh. Opportunity is not. Project Maya supports students from families who cannot easily cover the costs of schooling, and it is usually those small costs that decide whether a child finishes or drops out.
Most of the volunteers who mentor on Maya went to schools like these themselves. That matters more than we expected when we started. A mentor who can honestly say “I sat that same exam” gets listened to in a way that a stipend alone never manages.

How you can help
Sponsoring a student is the most direct thing you can do. Mentoring is what we need most. It costs nothing but your time, and we are always short of mentors rather than short of students.
